Another "thing" on gallery.yahoo.com

My second submission to the public Yahoo! gallery got approved a few hours ago. Get the Local Time Plug-in for Yahoo! Messenger. It allows you to see the local time of your contacts and will update automatically if your friends have the plug-in installed, too. If they don't, you can punch in their time zone manually. Tip: Double-click on the clock to reset a time zone.

This plug-in looks great--I love the idea of being able to know what time of day it is for the people I'm chatting with. But I can't get it to work. I see that I can "Send PlugIn to a Contact," but all that does is initiate a message. Can I not manually specify that a contact lives in a certain place and track that person's time of day?

You have two options: 1. Send the plug-in to your friends. If they have it running, the correct time will be shown automatically. 2. Set the time zone manually for contacts. You will have to look up their time zone, for example from http://www.timeanddate.com/, relative to UTC. To reset a manually entered time zone, double-click on the clock background (and be careful not to hit the minute/hour hands).
