HOWTO: Configure the TIP (keyboard) button to show/hide DialKeys

May 8, 2006 11:18 by docbliny

On my eo the keyboard button on the left opens up the TabletPC keyboard. I wanted to try using DialKeys instead (and I was under the impression that this button would be mapped to DialKeys by default). After starting to code something to hack it, I noticed that there is an application named "showHide.exe" in the DialKeys folder. So:

  1. Open up Tablet and Pen Settings from the control panel.
  2. Click on the Tablet Buttons page.
  3. Scroll down to TIP button in the list, and then click the Change... button.
  4. Select Launch an application as the Action.
  5. Type or browse to "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Touch Pack\DialKeys\showHide.exe" for the Program location.
  6. Click the OK button, and then click the OK button to close the Tablet and Pen Settings window.
