I had problems connecting/installing a Bluetooth mouse on my work laptop. In the end I had to disable XP System Restore points before the installation worked. Once you connect the mouse it starts to install the drivers and the BT software has this button that times out after one minute and the system restore point creation was just taking too long. Disabled it and the mouse connected and installed on the first go. Another half an hour of my life wasted....
